Position Designs

  • The state government will lead by example as an employer dedicated to building an organization culture that supports equity and inclusion.
  • Prioritize qualifications based on demonstrated skills and practical experience. Education-based requirements are minimized.
  • Education and training programs address high priority skill gaps and support opportunities for people working in entry level and lower paid positions to seek positions with increasing responsibility and compensation.

Job Quality

  • The state government will lead by example as an employer dedicated to building an organization culture that supports equity and inclusion.

  • Public and private sector positions offer family (or household) sustaining pay, guaranteed paid leave, access to affordable childcare, and fair scheduling practices.

Recruitment

  • Expand advertising and outreach efforts to attract a more diverse pool of applicants for state government employment opportunities.
