Guiding Statement: “To co-create recommendations with our fellow GEIAC members for Wisconsin public (including state agencies) and private sector policies that inform the changes needed to move Wisconsin towards building organizational cultures that embed equity and inclusion in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, promotion, and employee retention." ​

Position Designs

  • The state government will lead by example as an employer dedicated to building an organization culture that supports equity and inclusion.
  • Prioritize qualifications based on demonstrated skills and practical experience. Education-based requirements are minimized.
  • Education and training programs address high priority skill gaps and support opportunities for people working in entry level and lower paid positions to seek positions with increasing responsibility and compensation.

Job Quality

  • The state government will lead by example as an employer dedicated to building an organization culture that supports equity and inclusion.

  • Public and private sector positions offer family (or household) sustaining pay, guaranteed paid leave, access to affordable childcare, and fair scheduling practices.

Recruitment

  • Expand advertising and outreach efforts to attract a more diverse pool of applicants for state government employment opportunities.
  • Expand pipelines of diverse applicants with the necessary skills and experience for high priority state government positions.
